Worried about thinning hair?
Advice & product tips…
Thinning hair, bare patches or even baldness is not something that only affects men – nearly 40 per cent of women by the age of 60 experience some form of hair loss. And while men find the condition upsetting, women can find it devastating.
Be strong: Aveda has just launched a great new range for thinning hair called Invati that reduces hair loss due to breakage so you keep the hair you have longer. The Invati conditioner restores strength and improves hair elasticity, significantly reducing breakage.
Remove excess product: Stop thin hair looking limp by getting rid of any excess product that may be building up. The Aveda Invati Exfoliating Shampoo will gently cleanse the scalp and any get rid of excess product and oil build up on the hair so it feels more swishy and less flat.
Boost volume: Experiment with a new layered style or curls and use volumising shampoos and a volume-enhancing root-lift sprays when drying your hair to make the hair stand up from the scalp giving it a thicker appearance.
Improve your diet: A lack of minerals can cause hair loss, so eat iron-rich foods such as liver, kidney, branflakes and soya products. Protein and zinc are also important. Foods with zinc include wheat germ, pumpkin seeds, egg yolk and shellfish.
Get a medical opinion: There are usually underlying causes to female hair loss including hormonal changes caused by an overactive thyroid, menopause or pregnancy. Ask your doctor to run some tests. Female hair loss is often reversible. Ask your stylist about the new Aveda Invati range on your next visit or pop into the salon to receive your free trial pack, whilst stocks last!
Become an Indigo Apprentice
We are excited to announce that we are looking for first year apprentices and a salon assistant who doesn’t necessarily want a career in hairdressing to start in September. If you are interested, call in to say hello and drop off your CV or fill in an application form at reception
Botox at Indigo? What do you think?!
We are considering offering a Botox clinic one day or evening a week at the salon through a partnership with local medically qualified Botox experts “Skintime”. They specialise in anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers, dermaroller for anti-ageing, stretch mark and scar reduction and skin peels for brighter, smoother, tighter looking skin.
What do you think? We are interested in your opinions, so please share them during your next appointment or email us today.
Stylist Danielle has been hairdressing for 8 years and part of the Indigo team for over 5. She started by specialising in colour, but now is proficient in the full range of hair cutting, colouring and styling. She loves working with long hair, natural curls and loose waves to create stunning feminine looks.
Her favourite Aveda product? “I love Confixor liquid gel. You’ll need just a small amount (the size of a 10p) to work through the mid length and ends and it’ll reward you with day long hold and volume for longer styles. It’s also good in humidity on holiday as you can apply it and leave it to dry naturally if you like.”
Book your appointment with her today.
Indigo Summer Offer: Could your partner do with a fresh look?
Introduce your partner to Indigo! During July & August, they get a free gift at their 1st appointment and you get £5 off your next cut or colour. Just get your partner to provide your name when they make their appointment so we can make sure you get your discount on your next visit.
